Vai-te Cuca
This program comprises a selection of melodies that are, for the most part, originally performed in social gathering contexts. Dances, religious festivals, evening gatherings, and other occasions where people meet, and in which the use of the voice plays a central role. These are joyful songs and melodies that integrate and unite, representing moments of pleasure, communication, and communion.
To express the joyful character of this repertoire, we have an expanded ensemble that adds to the core duo of Cardo-Roxo (viola da gamba, bagpipes, and voices) more voices, percussions, and plucked string instruments, allowing us to explore denser textures and a more varied dynamic spectrum, starting with the most delicate Christmas carol, moving through the most theatrical children's song, and ending with the most exuberant dance.
